Top-Notch Due to It’s Precision ~ QE-R EQE system from Enlitech.
In August 2021, Advanced Materials (Impact Factor 30.849), the leading journal in the field of materials science, published the world‘s highest conversion efficiency of 19.64% organic solar cells.
The authors adopt tandem-structure strategy to achieve high efficiency. The structure is indium tin oxide (ITO)/ZnO/bottom photosensitive layer/ interconnect layer (ICL)/top photosensitive layer/MoOx/Ag. Achieving high efficiency tandem solar cells, the most important thing is to achieve the “current match” condition which is optimizing the short-circuit current (Jsc) matching between the sub-cells. The QE-R quantum efficiency system from Enlitech is used to study the quantum efficiency spectra of PBDB-TF: ITCC and PBDB-TF: BTP-eC in the bottom and top sub-cells. By integrating QE-R’s quantum efficiency spectra, the Jsc of of each sub-cells is calculated, which is used to fine-tune the composition and the thickness of the cells. The authors successfully demonstrate 19.64% (certified 19.5%) high-efficiency OPV which is the highest record in the OPV field. Quantum efficiency spectroscopy shows that the light absorption competition between the two sub-cells is still within the wavelength range of 400nm ~ 700nm. The voltage loss of the bottom sub-cell is still greater than that of the top cell (0.65 vs 0.51 V). Therefore, there is still a lot of potential for improving the PCE of OPV in series connection.
There are over 500 sets of QE-R system installed worldwide, and currently has more than 1,000 citations in SCI papers. QE-R’s excellent spectroscopy and Jsc short-circuit current comparison performance make you don’t have to worry about top-journal publication.
