The Latest Accurate Measurement Solutions for Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Solar Cells

With the rapid development of solar cell technology, perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells have become a research hotspot due to their outstanding photoelectric conversion efficiency and wide application prospects. However, accurately measuring the performance of these advanced solar cells has always been a challenge. To address this issue, we, Enlitech Photonic Technology, have proposed a complete set of innovative solutions to ensure that you can accurately evaluate and optimize your solar cells.

SS-PST Spectrally Adjustable/Super A-Class Spectral Solar Simulator SS-PST100R

We know well that the precision of IV measurement and efficiency testing for tandem solar cells is crucial for product performance evaluation. For this reason, we have developed the SS-PST100R solar simulator, which not only provides super A-class spectral accuracy but also has the function of spectral adjustability, perfectly meeting the strict requirements of the IEC 60904-1-1 standard for simulators. Its output spectrum can reach A++ level, with the spectral deviation controlled within 6% for each wavelength band compared to AM1.5G, providing the most ideal test light source conditions for perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells.

IVS-KA7000 Spectral Control and IV Scan Testing Software

The application of the spectrally adjustable solar simulator greatly enhances the precise IV measurement capability of the perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. Our IVS-KA7000 software, through automated control and adjustment of the SS-PST simulator’s output spectrum and illuminance, significantly simplifies the testing process. Coordinating with the SRC-2020 multi-spectral standard cell, it can achieve a high degree of consistency with the AM1.5G standard spectrum, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the test results.

Figure 2 The IVS-KA7000 Spectral Control and IV Scanning Testing Software is used for accurate adjustment and matching of solar spectral output and radiation intensity, especially in the power conversion efficiency (PCE) measurement of perovskite tandem solar cells. Its functions include automatic matching of the AM1.5G spectrum, adjustment of irradiance, and the option to scan the Top/Botton cell current matching of the perovskite/silicon layer.

WPVS Standard Cell Group

In order to further enhance the accuracy of the measurement, we provide a set of high-precision WPVS standard cells (Reference Solar Cells). These standard cells are perfectly integrated with the IVS-KA7000 software and automatically monitor the deviation of the output spectrum from AM1.5G, ensuring the quality of the test light source and the credibility of the test results.

The spectral mismatch factor of the SRC-2020-KG3 standard cell and the top perovskite subcell we provide is less than 1%. The spectral mismatch factor of the SRC-2020-BL7 standard cell used to correct the light intensity of the bottom cell is also less than 1%. After using the SRC-2020-KG3 and SRC-2020-BL7 to adjust the SS-PST solar simulator (both have been traced and calibrated by NREL, and the spectral errors of the top cell and the bottom cell are both less than 0.5%), we used the ISE-calibrated quartz window reference cell for verification and obtained a light intensity deviation from 300nm to 1200nm. The experimental result (ISE QTZ) shows that the output intensity of SS-PST is 1.0052 Sun, which is only 0.52% deviation from AM1.5G 1000 W/m2. This proves the accuracy of the SS-PST solar simulator in simulating the AM1.5G standard spectrum.
